The Bare Campers are in the process of obtaining land in Southern Lake County ( a county regarded as nudist-friendly) in the area of the Green Swamp Preserve with the idea of establishing a permanent wilderness area in Central Florida for nudists. Green Swamp Preserve is truly one of the last remaining wilderness areas where some private land is still available. The location is centrally located with easy highway access via I-4, the Florida Turnpike, US 27, Hwy 50 and I-75. There is also the geographic proximity to Walt Disney World and the other Orlando area theme parks.

"Camp Bare in the Woods" the working title for the park, will initially consist of 5 to 40 acres of unspoiled upland hammock wilderness. Only the absolute necessities in infrastructure will be constructed, in as confined an area as is practicle, so as to destroy the least possible wilderness area. Initially the park will have an area in which to park vehicles, a restroom and shower facility, and a small camp store with refreshments and necessity of life items.

Scattered among the various habitats and sights will be nature trails with interpretive signage and small individual tent campsites. Soon, facilities for pop-up campers and motor homes will be added to the area immediately around the central facilities as well as self contained camping cabins for traveling nudists or those without camping equipment. In the near future, we look forward to seeing fellow nudists really enjoying themselves in the great outdoors at "Camp Bare in the Woods".

The geographic area where we are planning to build does not have access to electric and phone service at this time, which gives us an excellent opportunity to meet these needs in an Earth Friendly way. "Green" will not be just a buzzword but truly a way of life at the camp. All of our electric needs can be met on a day-to-day basis by solar voltaic, solar thermal,and wind power. A small diesel generator operated on bio-diesel will provide emergency backup power. Telephone and internet service can be obtained by direct satellite connection.s

To establish this private nature preserve for nude recreation, and link the idea of earth-friendly environmenatalism with the wholesome ideals of social family nudism, will take a fair ammount of funding. We are a 501-c4 not for profit corporation. We ask you to join us by donating your time and/or money to this worthy venture. If you are already an American Association for Nude Recreation (AANR) member and feel that our program could be of value to you , please join the Bare Campers for the small fee of $45 per year. If you are not yet an AANR member, join AANR and Bare Campers at the same time for just $100.00 per couple or $75.00 for singles per year. Even a small donation or a letter of support would be greatly appreciated.
